The EC BiodeliveryTM is a safe and versatile platform for local delivery of biological molecules such as proteins, peptides, antibodies and neurotransmitters across the blood-brain-barrier.
Proteins
EC Biodelivery™ has paved the way for a number of valuable development-stage product candidates and over the years NsGene has identified a number of therapeutic factors that in combination with the EC Biodelivery™ platform constitute novel product opportunities, see e.g. NsG0202 which is undergoing clinical testing.
Peptides
The EC Biodelivery™ technology can be used for delivery of large molecules, including peptides. NsGene has in-licensed the peptide Galanin that in combination with the EC Biodelivery™ platform constitute a novel product opportunity for treatment of Epilepsy, see NsG0501.
Antibodies
Antibody therapy (Ab therapy) is a new and emerging field to potentially treat a large number of neurological disorders. NsGene has demonstrated that antibodies can be secreted from EC Biodelivery™ devices and these are therefore well suited to deliver recombinant antibodies across the BBB with the ability to stop the therapy at will. Therapeutic effects of anti-Abeta antibodies delivered by EC Biodelivery™ has been demonstrated in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease.
